The 2007 Inaugural Women's World Cup

The 2007 Inaugural Women's World Cup in street hockey was held this past June in Ratingen, Germany. Teams invited to participate in the tournament included Canada, USA, Germany, Austria, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Team USA competed against top seeded Canada first, losing a hard fought game 3-0 but bounced back from this early loss beating both Germany and Austria. They then went on to tie Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

This brought the team's overall record at the World Championship's to 2-1-2 which established the USA as one of the premier teams in the women's division. In October the team traveled to Ontario, Canada where they competed in the World Outdoor Provincial Championships and came away as tournament champions. This tournament victory brought Team USA into the national spotlight as a team to watch out for.

The team is now in the process of organizing the 2009 National team which will compete in next year's Women's World Cup to be held in June in Prague, Czech Republic. They are expected to do great things.
